Asus ROG Phone 7: What We Know So Far
Asus is gearing up to release its next gaming smartphone, the Asus ROG Phone 7, as per a recently discovered TENAA listing. This Chinese certification agency, akin to the FCC in the US, licenses phones that are nearing their official launch, indicating that we should expect to see the ROG Phone 7 soon.
ROG Phone 7 Models
Similar to its predecessor, the ROG Phone 6, Asus is anticipated to launch several models of the ROG Phone 7, including a vanilla ROG Phone 7, an Ultimate edition, and a ROG Phone 7D.
Asus ROG Phone 7 TENAA Listing
According to the TENAA listing, the Asus ROG Phone 7 carries a 5,850 mAh battery, slightly lower than its last generation. However, this will be rounded up to a standard 6,000 mAh capacity in the final specification sheet. Additionally, the phone’s model number, AI2205_B, suggests that it is the global version. The listing also reveals that the phone will feature four cameras, with a standard selfie camera and a triple rear camera setup.
The ROG Phone 7 will support 5G bands n41, n78, and n79 and accommodate two SIM cards. It will operate on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, clocked at 3.19 GHz and coupled with 16GB of memory, running on Android 13. The charging speed of the phone will be 65W.
Although many specifications of the ROG Phone 7 have been revealed, the screen is still unknown. However, it is assumed that the phone will feature a 6.8-inch AMOLED display with FullHD+ resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate.
There are mixed rumors regarding the ROG Phone 7’s launch date, with some claiming a Q2 or Q3 2023 release, while others predict a release toward the end of 2022.

Additionally, a leak regarding the non-gaming Asus Zenfone lineup suggests that the Zenfone 10 will be launched a few months later than its predecessor in the fourth quarter of 2022, pointing toward a slight shift in ROG Phone’s launch windows.
