Top Free Weather Apps for Android
The Weather Channel and AccuWeather are among the most popular weather apps for Android. Both apps have over 100 million installs and offer free radar and widgets. The Weather Channel sources its data through a partnership with IBM. Meanwhile, AccuWeather is used by many commodity traders who base their investments on fundamentals. Knowing the weather for the next few months can be useful for buying and selling Corn or rice contracts.
New Features on the AccuWeather App
Themed Icon Feature
Android 13 users can now enjoy the themed icon feature on the AccuWeather app, which changes the colour of the icon to match the colours from the wallpaper. To enable this feature, go to Settings > Wallpaper & style and toggle Themed icons.
Hourly Tab and List View
The iOS and Android apps now display a horizontal graph that shows the current temperature and hourly forecast for the next four hours. Select the Hourly tab at the bottom of the screen, then set the button on the upper right of the display to Graph. The app will also show how the temperature feels in wind chill and in shade. You can also choose List view to see the hourly forecast.
Watch Live Option
The AccuWeather app now offers a “Watch Live” option located in the menu when you tap the three-line icon on the upper left of the screen. The Video option will appear, along with a red pill-shaped icon with the word “LIVE”. The live stream will appear at the top of the screen when you tap on it.
