iPhone 15 Rumors and Upgrades
The rumors surrounding the release of the iPhone 15 are gaining momentum, and many iPhone users are planning to upgrade to the latest models. Although not all the rumors may be promising, the new models are expected to come with several features that will attract users.
New Features
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected to have a periscope telephoto camera and a titanium chassis. Both the Pro models are likely to feature the A17 Bionic chip, based on 3nm manufacturing technology. The standard models may have the Dynamic Island cutout, but the always-on display and 120Hz refresh rate will remain exclusive to the Pros. The entire lineup will switch to USB-C ports and solid-state buttons.
Upgrade Incentives
According to investment firm Wedbush, about 25% of iPhone users have not upgraded their phones in over four years. This means that a significant number of users are likely to upgrade to the new models. With over 1.2 billion active iPhones worldwide, an estimated 300 million users could consider an upgrade. Although some may opt for an older iPhone model or switch to an Android device, a good chunk of sales will come from these users.
Launch Cycle and Other Rumors
The iPhone 15 is expected to be launched in September, and it will follow the annual release cycle of iPhone models. Additionally, Wedbush analysts also believe that Apple may announce a hardware subscription plan and release an AR headset in the coming months.
The firm also expects the services business to benefit from the addition of over 100 million new iPhone users in the last 15 months. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are currently considered some of the best phones available, with the Pro Max being crowned the third most popular smartphone in the world in 2022.
