“Get an Exclusive Glimpse of Sony WF-1000XM5 Earbuds with Latest Leaks”

Sony Leaks First Look at WF-1000XM5 Earbuds and Charging Case

Sony is known for making some of the best wireless headphones, including its flagship products such as the WF-1000XM4 earbuds and WH-1000XM5 headphones. However, the former has been reported to have major issues recently. Despite this, leaked images show the upcoming WF-1000XM5 true-wireless earbuds and charging case that are highly anticipated by those who know the prowess of Sony’s products.

The Earbuds

The leaked images suggest that the WF-1000XM5 will have a slimmer and more compact shape than the current-generation model. The base of the buds is sculpted instead of flat, and it has a control surface that supports touch interaction to control music playback. The earbuds’ touch panel will also integrate the Bluetooth antenna.

The glossy black plastic used to create the prototype is a bit odd, as the usual finish is hard matte-finish plastic. Pictures of the insides of the earbuds show a lot of delicate circuitry, and teardowns for repair may be tricky business because the antenna connector appears to be soldered on.

The Charging Case

The WF-1000XM5 charging case’s design has undergone a few changes, but none of them are revolutionary. The case is better rounded and more like a river pebble compared to the WF-1000XM4 case. It could be smaller, but there are no pictures with a ruler in frame to confirm this. The body is finished in matte plastic.

The charging case has switched from a three-pin design to just two charging pins per earbud. The earbud battery recharging specifications of the upcoming model are 5V 230mAh instead of 5V 140mAh, indicating larger earbud battery capacity or a lower charging time. As expected, Qi wireless charging is on offer, and USB-C is standard.

Aside from confirming the speculation around the earbuds’ material and design, there isn’t much info left to glean from Sony’s official announcement when it comes. However, software features could help these new earbuds rank among the best wireless earbuds. It’s just hopeful that these buds don’t suffer from battery bloating issues because they don’t seem as easy to repair.
