Revamped Account Switcher in Google’s Play Store
In 2021, Google updated the Play Store with Material You design, but it did not update all areas of Android’s main app store. Although other apps and sites have been receiving revamped account switcher interfaces, Play Store has not yet received it until now.
As per 9to5Google, some users have recently spotted a new Material You account switcher interface in the Play Store. It will be displayed when you click on your profile picture or initial in the top-right corner of the app’s main menu, which is the place for pending app updates, notifications, and offers. The functional options in the revamped interface remain the same as the Body of the popup has rounded corners, with a second concentric area of a slightly darker background color that includes all main menu items.
Following this recent update, the Play Store is finally receiving a dynamically themed Material You background that adjusts the tint on the dark gray or white backgrounds in apps and menus based on the colors of the user’s wallpaper.
The Play Store’s new account switcher and dynamic background theming are part of the same server-side update, and it appears to be an account-based change on a staged rollout. Even if users update to the latest version of the Play Store app from APKMirror, the old interface will still be visible until Google rolls out the Material You update.
