“Incompatibility: Most iPhone 15 Mockups Cannot Fit in iPhone 14 Cases”

Apple’s Design Approach

When it comes to design, Apple is known for its conservative approach, sticking to the same aesthetic for at least a couple of generations before transitioning to a new look.

iPhone 15 Design Changes

The iPhone 15 lineup, however, is rumored to introduce some major design changes to the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max (or iPhone 15 Ultra). These changes include curved edges, smaller bezels, a titanium frame, and a bigger camera bump.

In a video, Japanese website Mac Otakara conducted an experiment comparing accurate iPhone 15 dummies (based on current leaks) and cases compatible with the current iPhone 14 lineup. The results showed that only the iPhone 15 Plus model was compatible with the case of the current iPhone 14 Plus, indicating significant design changes in real life.

As a result, cases for iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max are likely to be incompatible with the new generation smartphones. However, this design revamp is exciting for potential buyers as smartphones have gotten really good under the hood lately, and the visual aspect plays an increasingly more prominent role in drawing them in.

New Features for iPhone 15 Lineup

While the vanilla versions of iPhone 15 will miss out on the new aesthetic, they will be adopting the Dynamic Island of this year’s Pro iPhones. This means that there will be little something for everyone that is in the market for an iPhone 15.
