The Upcoming OnePlus Nord Phones: What to Expect
With the launch of OnePlus 11 now completed, the focus of OnePlus shifts to its mid-range Nord series, which is set to release in the following months. The Nord 3 and the Nord CE 3 will be the two new offerings from the company. The leaks and rumors suggest that Nord 3 will feature significant upgrades over Nord 2, with a more substantial display and stronger internals. In contrast, the Nord CE 3, scheduled to come out in July, will exhibit almost similar specifications to its non-CE counterpart but with no expectations of significant improvements.
Before the release of these two anticipated phones, OnePlus has reportedly made plans to announce another phone in the Nord series, named the Nord CE 3 Lite.
The Rumors Behind OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite
Leaker Max Jamboor claims that the OnePlus Nord CE 3 will be launched on April 4th, but no other details regarding price and specifications have been provided. It is important to note that the name suggests that the phone’s performance may not be subject to the expectations typically associated with the Nord series.
There has been little information or rumors regarding the Nord CE 3 Lite. However, last year’s OnePlus Nord CE 2 Lite featured the Snapdragon 695G chipset, a 6.6-inch 120Hz LCD panel, a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support, and a 64MP triple-camera setup. It also made its way to the US as the Nord N20 with downgraded features.
The Nord CE 3 Lite may continue along the same path as its predecessor, with faster internals and charging support. With the right upgrades and value price tags, it may even become one of the best budget Android phones on the market.
A Note on Software
OnePlus has often received criticism for poor software support for their Nord series, and it remains to be seen whether or not they will address this issue in their latest models. The company stated that the OnePlus 11 would receive four years of software updates, but this policy may not extend to the Nord series.
