Rumored Specs of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC
Twitter tipsters have revealed rumored specifications of the next generation top-of-the-line Application Processor (AP) from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The chipset is expected to feature TSMC’s 4nm process node, an enhanced 5nm node, and it could power the Samsung Galaxy S24 series next year. Two tipsters, RGcloudS and Revegnus, have provided differing details about the chip’s configuration. RGcloudS expects the chipset to feature 1 high-performance X-4 core, 4 performance cores, and 3 efficiency cores, similar to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. On the other hand, Revegnus has provided different details, claiming that the chipset will have a 1-5-2 configuration. Revegnus expects the X-4 high-performance core to run at a clock speed of 3.20 GHz, the same speed as the X-3 core on the current Gen 2 chipset. The chip will feature the Adreno 750 GPU, the Snapdragon X75 5G modem with a 20% improvement in energy efficiency, and support for LPDDR5 RAM and Universal Flash Storage (UFS) 4.1.

Verizon is offering a $800 discount off the price of the phone with a trade-in and bonus credit, bringing its price down to $399.99 on a 5G plan. On the other hand, T-Mobile is offering a $1000 discount off the S23 Ultra price when signing for the Magenta MAX plan and trading an eligible device. The US Cellular model of the Galaxy S23 Ultra can be purchased from Samsung with up to $680 off with trade. Additionally, AT&T is offering a plan and trade deal for $200 only.
It is important to note that the special version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 made for Galaxy phones features a high-performance X-3 core overclocked by 15% to 3.36GHz. It is assumed that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy will also come with an overclocked high-performance X-4 core.
