Google to Launch Android 13 QPR3 Beta 1 on March 13th
Google has announced that it will launch the beta program for the June Feature Drop (Android 13 QPR3 Beta 1) on March 13th. The stable version of the Pixel March Feature Drop is still delayed, and Google is expecting to launch it later this month. Those who are on the QPR2 Beta and don’t exit the program by March 13th will automatically receive the Android 13 QPR3 Beta 1 next week.
Changes in the Exiting Process for the Android 13 QPR2 Beta Program
If you were planning to exit the Android 13 QPR2 Beta program without wiping your phone, it would have been necessary to install the stable version of QPR2 before opting out of the Beta program. But Google has made a significant change in this regard.
If you want the stable version of QPR2, you’ll need to exit the Beta program first. Before March 13th, you can click on www.google.com/android/beta to see your eligible devices, and then tap on the “Opt Out” button under your Pixel image. Ignore any buttons that say “downgrade OTA update” as this won’t force you to wipe your phone. You will have to wait for the stable version of the QPR2 update (i.e., the March Feature Drop) to be released later this month.
Be Mindful of Your Actions
Remember that if you don’t opt-out, you won’t receive the stable version of QPR2. If you cannot wait to return to the latest public version, you can tap on the “downgrade OTA update” button, but it will force you to wipe your phone. If you do nothing, you will receive the QPR3 Beta 1 update on Monday and be forced to stick with the Beta program until June 5th when Google releases the June Feature Drop. Unless you’re willing to wipe your data, it’s essential to understand the process before taking any action.
Ask Questions and Clear Your Doubts
This is a significant and complicated change, and it’s essential to avoid wiping your data by mistake. If you have any questions, make sure to post them in the comments section so that an expert can address them before Monday morning.
