Google Pixel 7a: A Mid-Range Offering from Google
Recently, a Twitter tipster known as Gadgetsdata posted live images of what appears to be Google’s next mid-range offering, the Pixel 7a. The device’s back includes the iconic camera bar, while the About phone page (in Vietnamese) clearly states that it is the Pixel 7a. According to rumors, Google has upgraded its mid-range offering this year, boasting a 6.1-inch OLED panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 1080p resolution. The phone is expected to come with the Tensor 2 SoC and might include Qualcomm’s Wi-Fi Bluetooth chip, the WCN6740. Additionally, the device will feature the 64MP Sony IMX787 image sensor as well as a second rear-facing lens backed by a 12MP sensor. The phone is rumored to support 5W wireless charging and some exciting features, such as Magic Eraser, Direct My Call, and Photo Unblur.
A Closer Look at the Pixel 7a
The Pixel 7a’s design looks strikingly similar to the Pixel 7 from the back, while the display shows thicker bezels. The Pixel 6a featured 6GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of storage, and we might see the same configuration for the Pixel 7a. Rumors suggest that the phone might be priced similarly to its predecessor, the Pixel 6a, which was priced at $449. Last year Google offered great trade-in values, and we hope to see a repeat this year. We might get the official word about the phone at this year’s Google I/O developer conference, taking place on May 10th.
Exciting Features on the Pixel 7a
The Pixel 7a is rumored to support Magic Eraser, which removes unwanted objects from photos, as well as Direct My Call, which shows all the possible options when ringing up a business. Since it will be powered by the Tensor 2, the phone might include Photo Unblur, which fixes blurry photos taken by any camera and stored on your Google Photos app.
Overall, the Pixel 7a is shaping up to be an exciting mid-range offering from Google, packed with great features and promising hardware specifications. If you’re looking for a mid-range phone that delivers excellent value for money, the Pixel 7a might be the phone for you.
