Introduction
It is common knowledge that Google often loses track of unreleased hardware units, with many of the company’s devices being spotted in different places before their launch. The latest device to fall victim to this is the Google Pixel Fold, which is the company’s debut on the foldable market and is expected to launch sometime this year. However, one person claims to have already seen and captured pictures of the rogue Pixel Fold.
The Leaked Pictures
Reddit user onetaketeo recently posted a couple of blurry photos taken in the New York City subway that purportedly showcase the Google Pixel Fold. While the images are not very clear, one of them seems to be good enough to see some degree of similarity between the mysterious foldable and the renders of the Google Pixel Fold that were leaked a couple of months ago.
The Camera Bump
The Reddit user who captured the pictures also claims to have seen the foldable’s camera bump. This design element is a signature feature of the Pixel lineup, leading them to believe that the device in question is indeed the unreleased Pixel Fold. However, it is worth noting that Google has a reputation for being bad at keeping secrets, so this leak should be taken with a pinch of salt. There are many non-Samsung foldables that look similar to the one captured by the Reddit user.
Potential Unveiling at Google I/O 2023
Google has just announced the date for its annual developer conference, Google I/O 2023, which will take place on May 10th. This event could serve as the venue for the official unveiling of the Google Pixel Fold. Even if the device is not revealed at the conference, we can at least expect an update or some sort of teaser from Google.
