Pixel Users – QPR3 Beta 1 Update Now Available
Pixel owners who have been on the Android 13 QPR2 Beta program can now access the QPR3 Beta 1. This latest release is the first beta release for the June Feature Drop.
Exiting the QPR2 Beta Program
If you want to exit the QPR2 Beta program without experiencing any data loss, avoid installing the QPR3 Beta 1 update. Once installed, it is impossible to exit the QPR Beta program without wiping your phone. Instead, opt-out of the program and install the stable version of QPR2. Follow these steps:
- Go to google.com/android/beta or click on this link.
- Click on the “View your eligible devices” button.
- Select your device.
- Click on the “Opt out” button.
- Follow the prompts to opt-out of the QPR Beta program.
- Go to Settings > System > System update.
- Install the stable version of QPR2. Make sure not to install the QPR3 Beta 1 by mistake.
Staying with the Beta Program
If you want to remain in the QPR Beta program, install the QPR3 Beta 1 update. However, once you install it, you will be unable to exit the Beta program until the final version is released on June 5th.
Note that the QPR betas tend to be relatively stable, and you may end up with some useful features. For example, the QPR2 Beta 1 update introduced a Pixel 7 Pro feature that enables Pixel 6 Pro users to lower the screen resolution to save battery life.
