Telegram Rolls Out v9.5 with Power Saving Mode and More Enhancements

Telegram remains one of the best messaging apps with its quick updates that always add exciting features. In early February, the app introduced a new update that enabled users to translate entire conversations with just one click. Now, Telegram has released v9.5 with several upgrades, including a new power saving mode that promises to improve performance on older devices.

New Power Saving Mode

Telegram’s chat animations and effects enhance its chatting experience, but on older devices with low-end hardware, they may feel sluggish and adversely affect battery life. To resolve this issue, Telegram v9.5 introduces a new Power Saving Mode. It disables resource-intensive tasks such as auto-playing GIFs, animations, stickers, and emojis to save battery power. Individual toggles are also available for each of these specific effects, and the power saving mode can be set to activate automatically when your phone’s battery falls below a particular level.

New Changes in Telegram v9.5

The latest update of Telegram, v9.5, comes with various enhancements. The media player now has granular playback speed adjustment capabilities, which make it possible to set any playback speed between 0.2x – 2.5x for videos, voice notes, video messages, and other media content. Previously, you could only select from one of the predefined playback speeds.

Telegram now shows detailed read receipts, including the time each person viewed the message in small groups of up to 100 people, to ensure that your friends don’t miss your message. However, this feature is unavailable in larger groups, where you can only see who has read your messages.

Another new feature is the ability to automatically send a group invite link to a person who has restricted who can add them to groups. The update offers 10 new custom emoji packs for Telegram Premium users, and the team has also fixed over 400 known issues to improve stability and bug-free performance.
